A healthy pet is a happy pet and nothing is more important to a pet's health than an informed pet owner/guardian. While we are not qualified to give medical advice (only your veterinarian can and should do that), we do want to help our customers stay informed about the possible causes of common health problems. For this reason, we have provided the following links. Please be aware that we do not control the content of these sites. If you encounter any problems with these links, or wish to inform us of problematic content, please click contact us at info@petsappeal.com

  • Dogs
    • Allergies
      • What PETSAppeal can do:
        • Hypoallergenic shampoos can be used to reduce the possibility of skin irritation which (though unusual) can occur from the use of shampoos that contain perfume and other possible allergens. If you suspect that your pet may be allergic to shampoos, or perfumes, let us know and we'll offer hypoallergenic alternatives.
    • Itching (scratching, biting, licking)
      • What PETSAppeal can do:
        • In addition to Advantage flea control/prevention treatments, we offer a complete line of hypoallergenic, remoisturizing, and medicated shampoos/conditioners. We also offer several homeopathic products to help with itchy skin and compulsive scratching/biting.  Please let us know if your veterinarian has recommended special treatment for your pet.
    • Stool Eating (Coprophagy)
      • What PETSAppeal can do:
        • Well...we can brush your dog's teeth.  That'll help until the next time.  Be sure to read the linked information (above) for helpful suggestions.
    • Tear Stains
      • What PETSAppeal can do:
        • Tear stains can have many causes (including allergies) and safe removal of tear stains may be only partially successful.  Trimming the stained hair beneath the tear ducts can make the stains less visible and reduce the amount of staining due to "wicking" (see linked article) as long as the hair is trimmed regularly.  Use of stain removing wipes can reduce staining between professional grooming visits.
    • Teeth & Oral Hygiene
      • What PETSAppeal can do:
        • Please ask us about regular teeth brushing for your pet as well as homeopathic products specially formulated for oral hygeine.
